Classes for Junior and Adult Dogs

Our Junior and Adult Dog Training classes are for dogs who are aged aged 5 months and above who have missed out on puppy training classes, or who need to sharpen up on their general obedience, such as stay, come when called, learning to walk on a loose lead, jumping up, barking, and perhaps attention seeking issues or what we term"cloth-ear syndrome", that is you tell the dog to do something, and it completely ignores you. These classes are not suitable for dogs who have social issues ~ perhaps with other dogs, or with humans, as those type of problems need more specialist advice, details of which may be found on our behaviour page on this website.

Ahead of the course start date, you will be asked to provide details of the type of thing(s) you wish to work on, or improve on with your dog, so that we may ensure these things are covered for you during the most appropriate part of the course. Please note, we are unable to offer quick fix solutions to particular issues during the first couple of sessions. For reasons which will be explained, old embedded habits can take a while of persistence and consistence to effect a change. We check on the progress of your dog each week, and if something does not appear to be working based upon our advice, a re-appaisal will be made and further advice given. The real training as such is carried out by you, between each session. Our role is to teach and provide you with the necessary skills (and possibly tools) towards helping you achieve your goals with your dog, so please be prepared to work with us. Your feedback is very important, as your success is our success.

If you only have one or two issues you would like to work on, it may be more appropriate for you to book a home visit. Please either speak to us first, or email us with details of your dog.

Courses will be held at New Bradwell.

For our adult dog training classes, we follow a structure which leads to the KENNEL CLUB's GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME AWARD, which aims to educate owners about the importance of having a well trained dog which is socially acceptable. For full information about the Good Citizen Dog Scheme and what it covers click on the Kennel Club logo below:

If you would like to join our Adult Dog Classes and train to the Good Citizen Dog Scheme bronze level, the cost of a 6 week beginners course is £70. The test at the end of each course is not compulsory, so if you are happy with what you have achieved, then no test is necessary, however, the option is there if you would like to receive the award.

JUNIOR/ADULT DOG CLASSES:

Please also note that whilst we endeavor to start each class on time, there may be circumstances where there could be an overlap with an earlier class and brief delays will be inevitable if we are to continue offering a quality service.

Our courses are all full. If you would like to go on a waiting list for a future course, please call Glynis on 01908 562001.

Sometimes classes maybe inappropriate, unaffordable, or just not for you. Although classes are great for teaching dogs to respond whilst there are major distractions, some people and dogs can find them far too stressfull. Dog Obedience Training Online may provide some of the answers.

Here are some recent photo's from our adult/junior dog classes, which hopefully capture some of the atmosphere:

Dad teaches Glen to go through a door in a controlled manner

But it is dad who is going through the door, Glen wonders what's going on!

"you mean we have to stay here like this for two whole minutes?"

Junior handlers are welcome as well as junior dogs

The class receive a talk about their dogs education

The dogs then talk about their owners education!

But one evening, Tara the German Shepherd arrived late for class, and we started to wonder why. Suddenly, with a bang and a crash, the door swung open:

We now sell the Bun-GeePup-ee Dog Leash. This leash, combined with our methods of training a dog to walk without pulling is bringing about remarkable results. Many owners with back, shoulder and wrist problems are now discovering that they can train their dogs to walk nicely and without causing pain or injury to themselves, or to their dogs. For more information on this leash click here.

"Just been out for a walk with Thai. It was the best walk on the lead we have had in about 3 and a half years - he is only 4. Bloody fantastic. Thank you very much" - Sally, Milton Keynes (Thai is a Springer Spaniel who pulled very hard on the leash, no other training aid ever worked for him).
